Recently, we began developing our projects using Laravel framework. It’s exciting progress in our company, as we’re looking to pivot the vast majority of our newest projects into this framework.
Laravel is an open-source PHP web framework intended for the development of web applications following the model–view–controller (MVC) architectural pattern. A lot of what Laravel does is help take a lot of agony out of some development features by making common tasks such as authentication, routing, sessions, and caching, a more manageable process without giving up the efficiency of these applications.
The framework is used for larger and robust projects. However, we’re using a lite version of Laravel for the particular project mentioned above, and have seen tremendous success so far.
“Frameworks within any programming language are a way to formalize best practices in coding while simplifying some parts and reducing redundancy in many others. These basic functions are handled to one degree or another by all frameworks,” said DevDigital IT Director Micheal Hunt
“Laravel sets itself apart in a few key areas. First, it is more responsive than almost any other PHP framework available. Pages load faster, and searches return results more quickly. Next, Laravel excels in security controls. Most industry best practices surrounding security are baked into the design of Laravel. Another important factor is industry adoption. Laravel is the most popular framework for PHP worldwide. This means that tools and support are continually available. Laravel itself receives regular updates and upgrades and continues to improve as time goes on. All of these factors combine to help our development team to quickly create innovative products that are fast, reliable, and secure."
