Nashville-based custom software-development company DevDigital has partnered with former NFL Super Bowl-winning champion Michael Oher and his Beat the Odds foundation to create a new app focused on helping potential donors find various users with the app needing donations.
The app, called Good Deeds, allows users of the app interested in donating to a cause to scroll through a library of organizations and individuals within a certain radius asking for donations. If a user comes across a specific organization, they’re interested in contributing to, they can reach out to the organization or individual through the app and coordinate an endowment.
“The reason I created this app was, to connect people and bridge the gap for people who are willing to give and people who are in need,” said Oher in a video statement regarding the launch of his app, whose NFL career spanned over eight seasons, playing with the Baltimore Ravens, Tennessee Titans, and Carolina Panthers.
“It’s all about connecting people who want to give and who want to receive. I challenge (everyone) to make a difference in your community, your neighborhood, your city, your state, and in this great country.”
The app is available for download on both the iOS and Google Play stores.
