How to Remove Negative Google Reviews

For a long time, it was very difficult to manage requests to remove negative reviews from Google. However, Google My Business has recently announced that there is a new tool to help business owners keep track of reviews that have been reported.

Though this tool isn’t ideal for an agency that manages multiple listings, this feature only works on accounts that have a small number of listings. If there are any reviews that violate the policies, they can be flagged directly from the Business profile on Google.

Overall, the functionality of the new tool is great and easy to use. Below are the steps on how to submit a request to remove negative reviews.

  1. Go to the new tool, and select the business you would like to manage
  2. Next, you will need to select “Report a new review for takedown” and click on continue
  3. From there Google will list all the most recent reviews from your Business profile. Locate the review and click on “Report a problem”
  4. Google will update and you will be able to monitor the status of the review. If you select that review, a summary report will be available and you can submit an appeal if your request was not accepted.

Over 90% of consumers reference reviews to help them make a decision. They say never judge a book by its cover, but when it comes to the reviews it can either make or break your business. There are many reasons why Google reviews are important for your business. Establishing a good foundation for your reputation will go a long way and can have a huge impact on your SEO.
